The Philips Respironics 12 volt DC adapter cable will let you charge and run CPAP machines from any 12v battery with exposed terminals. The battery adapter cable, as shown with its red and black clamps hooked directly to its terminals, provides a 12v outlet. One end of the cord, or cigarette lighter cord, can be plugged into the 12v outlet of the DC power adapter cable while the other end is plugged into the 12v DC input port on Philips Respironics BiPAP or CPAP machines, allowing you to use the features of your unit such as its integrated humidifier or its ability to gather sleep data.
You can power CPAP machines, such as your Philips Respironics DreamStation machine, with any 12v regular or rechargeable battery that has their terminals exposed. For example, car batteries and deep cycle marine batteries. The 12 volt cord can be plugged into any 12v outlet such as that found in a car, boat, or RV. The run time at a pressure setting of 8 cm/H2O and with a full charge on a REMstar Plus CPAP machine is 12 hours, allowing patients to receive their full CPAP therapy without interruption. Don’t miss out on an important design feature like humidification, auto pressure settings, or data tracking just because you don’t have traditional power. Rely on the design of this DC adapter to keep the air flowing! You can use any 12V battery that has their battery terminals exposed. A car battery can be used, however a deep cycle marine battery is the best choice.
Although this 12v battery adapter cable is made by Respironics, it is universal and will work with any brand machine. The DC shielded power cord however is machine specific and looks like this: If you do not already own the DC shielded cigarette power cord you will need to first determine the model of machine you have.
