Still one of the best travel machines on the market, the S8 Series from ResMed remains a popular choice for CPAP users looking for a small, quiet, reliable CPAP for nightly use, secondary location, or for travel. The S8 Escape II CPAP dimensions are 4.6" x 6.5" x 5.7", and weighs under 3 lbs.
Within a couple years of the initial release of the S8 Series, ResMed patented a new, quieter blower motor. The decision was made to simply create another release within the ResMed S8 line with the new blower - and so the S8 II series was born.
As with the S8 Elite II, the ResMed S8 Escape II with EPR CPAP machine provides Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR) which is a comfort feature that can be turned on, or off. If turned on, the device will soften the pressure during exhalation, making it easier to breathe out - which can be a challenge for individuals with higher pressures. Features including comprehensive data recording to include AHI, and compliance data recording, ramp, automatic altitude adjustment, automatic voltage adjustment from 110-240V, as well as a capability of running off a 12volt power source. A generous LCD screen display allows for easy viewing. These devices are noted for their very low failure rate, and portability.
